The Adirondack Museum

Last Saturday we visited the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake.

http://www.adkmuseum.org/

I only allowed about 2 hours to see the museum, because I figured the kids would get bored. WRONG! I should have allowed another hour or so. We really enjoyed it and everyone was upset when they closed and we had to leave. I definately will be making a second trip when we are back in the area.

The view from the lake view cafe was beautiful.

There were a bunch of interactive things for the kids; In the old school house the kids made arts and crafts, in the gazebo they put puzzles together and played games.

There were exhibits about boats, with a boat building demonstration.

There were exhibits that showed life was in the Adirondacks through the years. There were exhibits about cabins, camping, and forestry.

One of the coolest things was the fire tower. The boys were able to climb up and look out. I had to stay at the bottom and take pictures!

and, of course, ringing the bell

We all learned a lot about life in the Adirondacks! This museum is definately worth the trip!
